This song moves my heart. I love how Adam breathed new life into it, helped fill it out, with lyrical ideas, an African kind of feel, and a full arrangement beyond the original layer song I'd created. It's an ode to my former self in a way, and a 'coming home', to my own deeper heart place, to the land I now reside on, and also to my beloved partner Mark. It unfolded into many things, and many feelings all at once. The original layer song comes right after, track 10.
lyrics
Home again come home again,
we are not in this alone again
Come home again come home again,
we are not in this alone again
If you could see where I have travelled
If you could feel what I have felt
You would see it was a battle
I was having with myself
Station after station
Never felt like I belong
I said, no more destinations
I guess I just needed to feel so far gone
Wherever I go, I wanna come home to you
Wherever I go, I wanna come home to you
I don't have to run away
To prove that I have grown
I know now I can stay
You will always be my home
I see the road is not required, but in my heart behold
The place it held along my way, the stories that it told
Wherever I go, I wanna come home to you
Wherever I go, I wanna come home to you
Open keep your heart open
Open keep your mind open
