Ancestral trauma is real. Sometimes we are passed down many lineages of pain, limiting belief systems, stored trauma, that becomes our responsibility to 'manage', clean up, clear out.. if we choose. Sometimes it feels the choice has been made for us, it's our turn, to get it done. Into the fire we go. But what an honour and a privilege to do that work, and step out the other side, rise from the ashes, in full aliveness. It's your turn, let your hair down!
lyrics
How come you only wanna tear me down
Pull up your bootstraps you'd say
Every time I turn around
Your cold heart's in my way
repeat
How come you only wanna break me down
Make me a slave to your moral brigade
This mauve magistrate
Spouting tight laced hate
repeat
Into the fire here we go
Into the fire head to toe
Into the fire to be seen
Into the fire to be cleaned
Never did you mind the mills or the mines
There were riches of the finest kind
Legacies of loathing
Let your hair down
How come you let them make you feel so small
To lay down the law just to break your own fall
I'm tired of waiting
To come come alive !
Into the fire here we go
Into the fire head to toe
Into the fire to be seen
Into the fire to be cleaned
This run is over,
Now it's my turn
Into the fire here we go
Into the fire head to toe
Into the fire to be seen
Into the fire to be cleaned
